The Rake
Born in the East End before the outbreak of World War II, acclaimed actor, writer and director Steven Berkoff didn’t have the best start in life. Berkoff misbehaved at school, became involved with violent gangs and drifted from job to job with no qualifications.
His new book, published in September, Diary of a Juvenile Delinquent is a remarkable memoir of this misspent youth. Compelling from the very first page it paints a startling portrait of his early life and the beginning of his theatrical career.
Now, having starred in films as diverse as A Clockwork Orange, Octopussy and Beverley Hills Cop, written several books and had his plays published extensively, Berkoff is telling his story.
The event is part of the Lancaster Literature Festival. Find out more HERE
