A story of forbidden love on Morecambe Bay.
The breathtaking landscape and dangerous tides of Morecambe Bay are the setting for this brand new play by Cumbrian writer Zosia Wand.
A choice made long ago has disastrous implications and one family is left to pick up the pieces. Elka swaps Warsaw for Ulverston with the hope of finding herself and answers to questions from her past. What she finds is a closely guarded secret. And love… but where she least expects it.
Telling an unconventional story of love, lost and found, Quicksand is a moving and startling look at relationships, family secrets and expectations. Deeply rooted in our local landscape, Quicksand is a love story, not a typical love story, but a love story all the same.

Zosia Wand's story, "Quicksand" set in Morcambe Bay, is the perfect place for a love story... it's ever changing landscape offers every emotion that love stirs in the soul. Passionate tides racing in and out , deep gullies with unforseen risks, sands that pull you deep within their grip, and a fragrant beauty for those who tread on her shore.

I recommend this show to you all!
I was immersed in it from the start and am still thinking about it two days later.
Loved it!
QUICKSAND
It is a thought provoking, haunting and profoundly moving story of love, family, kinship, community and exile.
The writing is excellent – as is the direction, design and score – and there are some absolutely superb performances.
