Working in partnership with the National Theatre and the National Youth Theatre, Shakespeare Schools Festival challenges the preconception that studying Shakespeare is difficult, dry or dull. Through workshops, teacher training and performances in professional theatres, young people have learnt to appreciate these timeless plays.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate at The Dukes with four youthful half-hour productions by schools from the region.
“We are such stuff as dreams are made on”
SSF is the UK’s largest youth drama festival, and will be held in 80 cities and towns around the UK, giving 14,000 young people the chance to experience the genius of Shakespeare through performance.
The Shakespeare Schools Festival works in partnership with the National Theatre and the National Youth Theatre who provide workshops to enable teachers and young people to produce accessible Shakespeare at its most innovative and entertaining.
