The Dukes Senior Youth Theatre present...
That Thing
Date & Time
Mon 12 Jul 2010 to Mon 23 Aug 2010
Where
The Bar and The Gallery
Fresh from the success of February’s 'It Snows', The Dukes Senior Youth Theatre brings you a set of new short plays by new young writers, performed and produced script in hand by young theatre makers from The Dukes. A weekly event (and hooha!) of new ideas.
The Programme of New Plays for ‘That Thing’:
'Bench' by Rosa Cooper Davis
“So pack a bag. Leave tonight.
It’s not that simple. I can’t just pack my bag and take it somewhere sunnier.
Why not?
I’d need to arrange everything! Tell my family I was going; actually find my passport.”
Two people. One bench. A good pair of shoes, and something as fleeting and temporary as a cloud.
'Small Ads' by Jack Hathaway
“So this is the situation. None of us have jobs, and with rent due next week...
That’s about the size of it.”
Three “friends”, a blood smeared shirt and quite a bit of shouting.
Every Monday at The Dukes, in the Bar and Gallery until Monday 23rd August.
This event is free – there is a pay what you can bucket for contributions from audiences.
Our new writers are inviting you to feedback on what you have seen, in order for them to develop their 20 minute plays into full 50 minutes play. The full length plays will then be performed at one of the ‘That Thing’ nights in August.
Suitable for 12+
