Youth Arts Centre
The Youth Arts Centre, Moor Lane

Are you interested in theatre, music and film?

Are you between the ages of 11 & 25?

We offer a wide variety of youth arts projects, and would like to meet you if you are interested in joining one of our weekly groups. Amongst the activities we offer are:-

DUKES DEN (11-13)
This very successful group has developed film-making skills, writing and producing their own films. A short version of Romeo and Juliet was screened at the National Museum of Film and Photography in Bradford

DUKES YOUTH THEATRE (14-16)
A new dynamic youth theatre group who devise and perform new work

MINOR THREAT (15-25)
A group for young people interested in exploring different ways of creating and performing in theatre and film. This group has strong community links, and has commitment to innovative outreach projects.

INTEGRATED DRAMA GROUP (14+)
A weekly integrated drama group, including young people with disabilities and their support workers. This group also provides creative learning opportunities for young people to work and support each other in a friendly environment.

SHATTERING IMAGES THEATRE COMPANY (16+)
A theatre company for people with learning difficulties and disabilities. This group has performed in community venues, schools and colleges. The group has performed Macbeth, Blood Wedding, A Midsummer Night's Dream and A Threepenny Opera. The current play is about the life of Mozart. The group would love to hear from you if you are interested in seeing our work., or wish to find out about joining us.

Pupil Referral Service Film Project
Macbeth, the Gory Bits, a chilling reworking of Shakespeare's classic play!

Dukes Den Film Project
A film devised and written by the group, exploring the history of the slave trade in Lancaster. Film on location at Borwick Hall

New Routes
An education project for unemployed young people. After some visits to the Arts Centre, they created a mysterious and atmospheric film called Freak

Dukes Youth Theatre
